Montana Bike Odyssey is a fixed route, unsupported, single stage, mixed surface cycling race that starts and finishes in Bozeman Montana. The 1,650 mile route travels clockwise around Montana, passing through the Rocky Mountains of Western Montana, over the Going to the Sun road in Glacier National Park, across the expansive Prairies and Breaks of Central Montana (including two ferry crossings over the Missouri River), over the 10,947′ high Beartooth Pass, through the Northern portion of Yellowstone National Park and back to Bozeman. It follows state and county paved roads, maintained gravel roads and unmaintained dirt roads connecting rural communities, often spread apart by long distances.
