Over 100 riders traveled to Italy this fall for the inaugural Sneak Peaks event, overcoming relentless rain and a surprising amount of snow. The official video is out now, documenting the challenges and beauty of the event while exploring the question: What is the “Party Pace Patrol”? Find out here…
One hundred and thirty-six riders gathered in Bolzano in September for the first-ever Sneak Peaks bikepacking event, embarking on an adventure through the Italian Dolomites and Slovenian Triglav Mountains. Participants chose between 450-, 750-, or 1,087-kilometer routes, all featuring rugged terrain, steep climbs, and significant elevation gain.
The event stands out with initiatives like a flight ban for participants’ travel, compensation for all CO₂ emissions, solidarity, and tickets for underrepresented groups. There was no cut-off time, and riders were allowed and encouraged to form teams and ride together, fostering an open and inclusive environment. Steffi Köhler’s short documentary captures the essence of Sneak Peaks through the voices of riders, the expedition leader, and rifugio hosts. Watch it below.
“You gave me the most beautiful but also the hardest day I’ve ever had on a bike.”
