The latest video installment in the Wahoo Frontiers series features enigmatic road, track, and gravel racer Colin Strickland, who shares his story of walking away from a rare opportunity to race in the World Tour to focus on doing more of what he loves. Watch it here…

Wahoo’s Frontiers series is back, this time with a profile of multi-discipline racer Colin Strickland, who recently turned down an opportunity to race on the World Tour with EF Education First following his record-setting 2019 win of the DK200 (now Unbound Gravel). In this 19-minute video, he shares a glimpse of his home and surroundings in Austin, Texas, discusses his longtime relationship with bicycles, and walks through the evolution of his racing career—from road, to track, to gravel.

Colin’s reflection on choosing to follow his passions and enjoy the life he’s built at home, rather than uprooting everything for what was likely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete at the highest level of road cycling makes for quite a compelling story. You can watch the full video below:

“World tour racing is the dream for some and may even be the dream for most cyclists but it was not my dream.”
