I'm looking for a rear rack to for my 2015 Salsa Blackborow DS. Spoiler alert...I have the Salsa rack made for it...HOWEVER...I want a rack that can accommodate the 197mm spacing AND have the three boss pack to mount..... say cages or the Old Man Mountain Hemlock system. I like the idea of being able to quickly and easily remove the "Panniers" and take them with me, (in the tent). It's there an attachment, or different manufacturer that makes a rear rack for fatbikes with a 3-boss pack feature like this?

I am looking to replace the pads on my Growtac Equal brakes, but I am not sure which ones to choose. Any suggestions outside their OEM which I cannot find anywhere online in there EU? They can also take Shimano, but if there are better ones, I would love to know.

I am trying to find a frame that can work with 27.5+ and 29+ wheels. As my MTB, I currently have a Soma Riff with 27.5x2.8 and a 120mm pike (27.5 specific). I also have a 2024 Salsa Fargo with a 29+ wheelset (29x2.8). I would like to get a MTB frame that will let me use both wheelsets. Ideally, I would like the option to run the 120 suspension fork with 27.5, and then a rigid fork with the 29+ wheelset. I would probably take off the parts from my Soma to build up a frame which would allow me to swap wheels and forks. I run single speed on my MTB, so I prefer frames with sliders.

Has anyone combined a dynamo hub with an inverted fork? I swap between a normal and dynamo hub on my MTB and have been eyeing an USD fork but can't figure out how I can make it work with the flimsy coaxial wire. There is no stanchion guard on the fork I can use for routing.

I'll be riding Salmon River Solitude this coming Thursday (7/16/26). I'm flying in from Nome, AK and see warnings of the mine. Has anyone ridden it recently to provide any info/beta on the route. I've called a couple locals but they aren't cyclist. Looking for that perspective.

Have you used an Ibis Ripley V5 for bikepacking? I bought one when they first came out, ordering it before it was available. I was surprised at how heavy it was, once I got it. There isn't a lot of bag space on it, either. Mine is an XL. I've thought about doing some chunky mtb routes, like the Tahoe Twirl with it. I see that Neil has a "Ibis Ripley XM Frame NEW" for sale in the Co-op, presumably that means there won't be a review. Might try the Hopper Frame Bag plus a hydration bladder below the shock, and if my knees don't rub too bad, the longest Tailfin top tube bag, and a harness/bag on bars, a downtube bottle or bag, and probably an Aeroe or Tailfin rack/bag

I’d love to explore outside of the PNW- Europe specifically. Any advice on the best way to fly with my rig? Are the Thule Rountrip Hardcases a viable option? What’s tried and true method, best airlines etc.? Thanks!

Hey! Last year I bikepacked the European Divide Trail (France to Spain, my first bikepacking ride) with a big rear bag, frame bag, and a handlebar bag for clothes and cooking. This year I’m going from Valence up to the Vosges and then Zurich. I’ve got two 5-liter Old Man Mountain mini panniers. Initially, I thought I’d put them on the fork to distribute weight more evenly, but after seeing a lot of Tour Divide rigs with empty forks, I’m hesitant. Does weight distribution benefit or should I leave the fork clean?

Hi folks! Is there a route from Seattle to San Francisco that doesn’t involve feeling like a contestant in The Running Man on the 101- i.e. gravel, backroads etc.?
