Hello! I am an intermediate-level male rider looking for a travel companion to cycle around Scotland. For this, I have chosen two routes that connect quite well. The plan is to cycle west from Newcastle to the "GB Divide" and then cycle north along it. There we will turn around and follow "the Pictish Trail" south. In Edinburgh, we will follow the coast back to Newcastle. Local I ride around 85km or 50 miles a day. We will see if we will make this in Scotland.

I will ride my 29" rigid MTB from Colombia to Patagonia next year, starting in January. Although I enjoy doing some riding on my own, I enjoy bikepacking most with a like-minded fellow rider. Bariloche - Chile border - Carretera Austral - Coyhaique - Parque Nacional Patagonia - old Ruta 40 - El Chaltén - El Calafate. Return to Bariloche by bus. Distance: 1,350 km Time: January/February 2027 (flexible). Ca. 17 riding days, 50-140km/day, 95km/day average, mixed surface (ca. 50% paved). Cabins & camping. Me: last trip: 2025 Tip of Cape York to Cairns, 16 days, unsupported (think heat, headwind, sand, corrugations, camping - and a really good time).
