Any experience with OEX (Go Outdoors) brand tents? They are quite cheap, and review well, but I'm not sure I can trust online reviews. I want to dip my toes in the Bikepacking world, and a £70 tent (eg Phoxx I) seems like a good starting point before invresting lots of money in gear.

Thanks both. My usual go-to for used cycling gear is the Cycling UK forum, so I'll keep an eye out there as well.

I'm not familiar with that brand either, but it looks to have decent enough reviews from a quick scan. I think you're smart not to drop hundreds of pounds on a tent if you're still testing the waters, as you can always upgrade later and pass the old one on to someone else. Could be worth looking into a gently used tent from a better-known brand, too.

I'm not familiar with that brand, but they're relatively heavy and short (height)—about 25cm shorter than other popular 1-person tents—so almost like a bivy in that regard. I wish there was more used camping gear for sale in the UK posted to the Bike Camp Co-op at the moment, but there doesn't appear to be too many options in your area (https://bikepacking.com/basecamp/bike-camp-co-op/?sort=DESC&location&category=camping-gear).
