Bike shoes for bikepacking on flat pedals. I want a shoe that'd be good all around comfortable shoe for those hike-a-bike moments as well as decent for days off. Main goal is a one shoe for all the things in order to reduce packing weight while keeping comfortable-ish. In advance, appreciate the suggestions.

I also use Five Ten Trailcross shoes and often wear them around town for general life. They're comfortable and dry out quickly when wet.

I use Five Ten Sleuth for commuting and bikepacking. They're fairly breathable, the sole is still great after over 3K on DMR v8 flats. I'm afraid the trail running shoes' soles could be worn down by high mileage on flat pedals.

Thanks For all the responses! I also use Altra Lone Peaks, mainly for running (for over 10 years myself). Knowing how they fit me, I decided to go with the Altra Lone Peak 9+ GTX. Went out on a 50k ride this past weekend, they were perfect!

Wearing one pair of shoes for on- and off-bike use is a great way to save weight and space. In your position, I would find a hiking shoe or light boot that fits comfortably and just wear that, not worrying too much about it being designed for riding or made by a bike-adjacent brand. As long as the sole is stiff enough that you won't feel any pressure on the pedals (such as with a barefoot/minimalist shoe), you'll likely be just fine. I wore a pair of Keen hikers on a six-month tour with flat pedals and loved them for wandering around towns, national parks, and the like.

I did a 19-day tour with the Five Ten Trailcross, that one featured a lot of hike a bike. Only complaint was that the laces were long and hard to hide from snagging; there is a loop on the tongue. I have also done multi-day bike packs with the Five Ten Freerider Pro. No complaints.

For another option with barefoot shoe designs, try LEM Trail Blazer or Trail Thrashers. I've been riding with the Trail Blazers for a couple of years now. They are great on the bike with good flat-pedal pin resistance and off the bike for towns and hiking.

For me, the Giro Tracker is an all-in-one shoe. I like the Boa closure (also available with Fastlace) and it is wider than conventional cycling shoes.

I use Altra Lone Peak 9+. They work great on my Wolf Tooth Waveforms, great for a hike-a-bike, great for an evening at camp, and great for a rest-day hike.
