Does anyone have direct comparative experience with both the Coros Dura and Edge 1040 solar? I'm in need of a computer upgrade but I don't know if I trust the Dura given the early issues. I currently have an Edge 830 which is giving me tons of issues.

I have Dura for about 9 months and very happy with it. Did 9 days trip last year on a single charge (about 10h riding daily).

As with any company diving into something new, there are growing pains. But believe it or not, glitches with Garmin, Wahoo, and Hammerhead still poke around all the time. Its the nature of tech. We see it in Smartphones and watches, too. I've used the Dura vs nearly every other head unit on the market. It's nothing fancy, it's not beautiful, but that's the point, simple and the best in class as far as battery life is concerned. The glitches are also few and far between now. Plus, it's hard to beat that price. Let me know if you decide to buy. Thanks for checking in here.

I can't compare the Dura with the 840 but I can vouch for its reliability, easy of use offline, and fantastic battery life. Really good value, too.

I have the 840 and the Dura, so while not the comparison you asked for I like the dura a lot. I don’t thinker on it as much as I do with my 840. I just cycle through the few data screens I have. Overall they have worked out the issues and Coros does seem committed to the dura as a product. My only “con” is that I don’t get the full 120hr battery life out of it. It is still leaps and bounds over the 840s battery life. I have the solar 840 and the Dura is just has so much more solar real estate it can charge when my 840 won’t

I only have the dura but really like it, I haven't had issues, particularly that would justify the extra spend.
