I'm trying to decide between the Manitou R8 and the Fox 34SL forks. I am building up a Fairlight Holt 2.0 in black. So in terms of aesthetics I am looking at the Fox 34SL Performance ELite with the Grip SL damper or a Manitou R8 both in 120mm. Both seem like great forks, so hoping someone out here can help me choose. Right now I like the look of the R8 but worry the noise it makes will be bothersome.

Thanks! I ended up going with the Fox fork just because it'll likely be quieter and that was the edge for me. Maybe not the best reason to pick a fork, but a good enough reason for me. All the forks at this level are probably great anyways. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question!

I haven't used the GripSL damper or the Manitou, but I'm always fairly impressed with Fox's upper shelf damper options when it comes to performance/feel.
