Post ride footwear. I'm looking for an alternative to thongs or crocs which packs down light. Also when you might need to grab dinner somewhere on the journey and thongs won't cut it.

Thank you everyone for the broad range of footwear options. I'm going to upgrade my wardrobe and report back on my findings. One recommendation was the Astral Loyak which I'll have to try out.

I like my vibram furoshiki shoes. Haven’t taken them bikepacking, but imagine they should work great off the bike…

I'll add a plus one for the Berts. Depending on where you are going, they are nicer looking than the sandal options and crocs. Only big downside is that they are fairly warm and don't breathe super well.

Astral Loyaks pack down flat and are very lightweight. As a bonus they look great, can easily be worn without socks if that’s your jam and are very grippy on wet rocks and stuff :)

Bedrock clogs or some variety of Xero Shoes for me. Half the time I wear the Bedrocks riding too.

If space isn't an issue. I love my Quoc Slides. I wear them daily and they're still going strong.

Hey Matthew, there are some great options in our ultralight camp shoe roundup here: https://bikepacking.com/gear/ultralight-camp-shoes/ I'd prob reach for classic Bedrocks, Quoc Slides, and some folks really like Berts.
