[ PS: this might not be the right subject but it was the best I could think of ] I'm planning on a journey down South this fall and beyond starting in Vancouver, BC with. no rush to get anywhere. The idea is to do the long stretches on my motorcycle and once I get to a city; explore the deeper parts on a bike (my Tumbleweed Prospector) that I ideally ship from last major town I leave. I couldnt find much help yet and am realizing the only 'safe' way to ship bikes is to fly with them. Bikeflights doesnt do Mexico/SouthAmerica and the only other well known service SendMyBag seems to be a bad bet. If yall know any other services or have suggestions, i'd be interested. I'm planning to start contacting regular freight services next.

FWIW Zach I did find a rack and even though I dont like the montrosity of the vert rack from https://www.2x2cycles.com/ - I think its my best bet and I cannot argue with your logic of once its sorted, its good to go. I reached out to them. Appreciate you responding and putting me back on this track :) Miles - I really would have preferred this route but it might get tiring pretty soon so leaning towards the rack option ^^

If you can find one, that seems like way less of a hassle than having to figure out shipping to and from many strange locations over the course of weeks or months. Every time you ship the bike you'll be dealing with a different set of people, and every time you ship it (especially internationally) is another chance for the bike to be lost or damaged, or just get stuck in transit forever. A trailer is one big and likely expensive thing to figure out up front, but once it's sorted it's sorted, the bike goes where you go and never has to leave your sight.
