Recommendations for a strong lightweight wheelset to lighten up my 2019 fargo, that will not break the bank? I run 2.2" tires.

OK I ordered Hunt XC Wide MTB 29 wheelset which I think will be perfect, pretty tough, much lighter than stock WTBs and are very affordable. Thank you everyone!!

Awesome thanks so much for your answers! Food for thought. Quick extra question, Hunt Race xc or hunt mountain? Seems like the extra weight of the mountain wheelset might be an ok trade off for the additional abuse tolerance? And still 600g lighter than the stock wtbs...

I bought a pair of Hunt Race XC wheels and they have been flawless for me. I’ve run them mostly with 2.2” Race Kings and the shape is great. I’ve also run them with some 2.4” trail tires and they were also very comfortable. It’s hard to beat the price of $650 for a new 1500-gram wheelset.

I suppose how strong, how light, and how "not break the bank" are the factors at play. I've been impressed with the carbon Roval Control SL. Reliable DT hubs and a sub-1500 gram set for 1700 USD. The Logos Eudae has also been solid and comes in around 1600 grams for $1300.

hmmm, interesting! As I understand it, the fargo can run either boost or non-boost wheels, so you've got plenty of options. I think the Circos wheels would be good for that as I run 2.2 and even a little beyond that and they work great, as well as the bikepacking specific WR1 wheels Miles reviewed recently: https://bikepacking.com/gear/we-are-one-wanderer-wheels-review/
