57 cm Univega Gran Turismo, manufactured by Miyata to Univega’s specs. 57cm seat tube, CtC, with 56cm top tube, CtC. Personally, I prefer this Univega set up to the Miyata equivalent as it’s got more and better brazeons compared to the same year of Miyata -most notably, two bottle cages in the main triangle, but also lots of little things.
Classic touring frameset featuring mid fork eyelets and Manganese double butted steel for a smooth ride, this build features the best of the best in a mix of periodish and modern components. I built this to be a comfortable retro tourer or an awesome city bike. It’s super smooth riding, and the older Mighty Tour triple has more balanced gearing as opposed to a half step that the bike might have had originally. As it turns out, I prefer my theft proof MTB city bike and have a newer, more capable gravel tourer, so this bike isn't getting ridden.
There's some patina, which I tried to capture in the pictures, and the saddle has a scrape across the top.
