Salsa’s fat bikes are some of the most dialed when it comes to bikepacking and winter exploration, and while the 2022 lineup hasn’t received any frame or fork updates, the color options and build kits look promising. The Mukluk is Salsa’s most versatile fat tire bike and is designed to handle anything you can throw at it. Each complete build comes specced with a wide range 1x drivetrain, 26 x 4.6″ 45NRTH Dillinger tires, and either SRAM or Tektro hydraulic brakes. The Beargrease is designed to go faster, and is built up around a lightweight frame, 27.5 x 4.0″ tires, and all the same mounting options as the Mukluk, including multiple fork leg bosses, downtube and toptube mounts, and the ability to run racks.
