Building on the success of their wallet-friendly gravel bike lineup, the new Poseidon X Ambition is a slightly tweaked version of the original Poseidon X gravel bike that boasts the same $799 price tag Poseidon has based their brand around. The Poseidon X Ambition is built on a lightweight aluminum frame, carbon fork with bottle mounts, and a budget-minded build kit.
Compared to the original Poseidon X, the Poseidon X Ambition has a slightly lower standover and higher stack, which should translate to a more comfortable riding position for more people. Otherwise, it appears to be quite comparable, with clearance for 700 x 42mm tires, quick-release dropouts, Poseidon’s own flared drop bar, and a square taper bottom bracket.
The complete build features a Microshift 10-Speed Advent X drivetrain, mechanical brakes, 700 x 40mm Kenda Happy Medium tires, and a Prowheel Charm crankset. The frame has rack and fender mounts as well as multiple bottle mounts inside the main triangle and under the downtube (three on small, four on M-XXL). The fork mounts each have a weight capacity of 3.5 pounds.
The Poseidon X Ambition costs just $799 USD and is available now from PoseidonBike.com.
