The Peninsular Divide, an ultra-distance bikepacking cycling event, returns for its second edition from October 12-18, 2025. Spanning 1,500 kilometers from the southernmost tip of Peninsular Malaysia to its northernmost reaches, the race challenges riders with a staggering elevation gain of 20,000 meters. Designed for serious endurance cyclists, the course features 90% paved and 10% unpaved roads, taking participants across the majestic Banjaran Titiwangsa mountain range. The route traverses six Malaysian states—Johor, Pahang, Kelantan, Perak, Kedah, and Perlis—offering an unforgettable end-to-end journey from Pengerang, Johor, to the iconic Wang Kelian Viewpoint in Perlis.

Riders will experience the vibrant diversity of Malaysia, pedaling through remote villages and quiet countryside while encountering the distinct traditions, cuisines, and lifestyles of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous communities. The route showcases palm and rubber estates, sparsely populated rural areas, and breathtaking natural landscapes. It’s a journey that immerses participants in the rich cultural and geographic tapestry of the region.

Open to participants worldwide, the Peninsular Divide welcomes entries from all corners of the globe, building on its previous success with riders from Kyrgyzstan, Iceland, Poland, New Zealand, Germany, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. This second edition invites cyclists to test their endurance while exploring Malaysia’s hidden cultural and natural treasures in a truly unforgettable adventure.
