Fine-tuned over the last three years, the 2026 Cinelli HoBootleg Geo features a steel frame, Shimano’s Cues 1×11 groupset, a ton of mounting points, and clears 29 x 3.0″ tires. Find everything you need to know here…

The HoBootleg has been part of Cinelli’s lineup for over a decade. It was debuted at the Tour d’Afrique in 2012, designed as a bike for long-distance, off-road rides, but it has evolved over the years to tackle rougher and more remote terrain. The modern version is on the shrinking list of true 29+ compatible bikepacking bikes—a category we’ll always have a soft spot for.

The 2026 Cinelli HoBootleg Geo builds on the previous version while retaining its original DNA as a “self-sufficient world-traveller.” According to Cinelli, this iteration is more capable than ever, featuring a gusset-reinforced steel frame, a full-carbon Columbus Futura Adventure fork, and geometry inspired by classic rigid mountain bikes. The fork has an adjustable dropout for either 45mm or 50mm of rake, as well as three-pack mounts for cargo cages and bags. It also has dynamo routing, and the HoBootleg Geo is suspension-corrected to accommodate short-travel suspension forks.

The updated HoBootleg Geo’s complete build kit features a Shimano Cues 1×11 groupset, hydraulic disc brakes, a BSA threaded bottom bracket, external cable routing, WTB ST rims, Shimano hubs, and WTB Ranger 29 x 2.25” tires. It’s offered in five frame sizes (XS-XL), all with a 69° head tube angle, 450mm chainstays, and a wheelbase ranging from 1,047 to 1,138mm. Other specs include dropper post routing, external cable routing, a 27.2mm seatpost, and loads of mounting points for cages and racks.

According to Victor Luis, Chairman of Cinelli: “We’ve fine-tuned the HoBootleg Geo over a three-year testing period with our adventure ambassadors. We wanted to build a bike which is ready to tackle your most extreme rides straight out of the box. It’s ready to match whatever you throw at it and we can’t wait to see which remote corners of the globe riders venture to.”

Cinelli tested the HoBootleg Geo in the Afghan Pamir as part of it’s development, and you can read how it performed on their blog here, and see it in action in the short video below.

Cinelli’s new HoBootleg Geo is available in a Desert Mud colorway, with framesets from €1,300 (~$1,500 USD) and a full build from €2,500 (~$2,900 USD).
