Old Man Mountain just released a new film project, “Second Growth,” that follows experimental bikepacking team rider Alex Schultz to victory at the 2026 Oregon Timber Trail. Watch the full 30-minute video below…
The Oregon Timber Trail is a rugged 688-mile race that spans the entire state. It challenges riders of all levels and showcases the Pacific Northwest’s beauty through varied terrain. Alex Schultz won this year’s edition, and as a member of the Old Man Mountain Experimental Bikepacking team, a camera crew documented his race win and created a 30-minute video about his effort. Check it out below:
The video offers an interesting inside look at what it’s like to take on one of the country’s hardest routes at a blistering pace. Alex took on the OTT unsupported, facing many trials and tribulations. The Old Man Mountain team had their own struggles trying to document the journey, and this blog post shares more about the effort required to capture Alex’s winning ride.
