Just announced, the 2021 All-City Gorilla Monsoon comes in two different faded color schemes with two different drivetrain builds, plus a couple of additional tweaks to the frameset. Find all the details and more photos here…
The most visible change is that the 2021 All-City Gorilla Monsoon now comes in two colors, with two different build kits. However, the 2021 model also gets a few tweaks under the hood, such as a lowered bottom bracket, which All-City claims will help support the load [CORRECTION: All-City confirmed that they in fact RAISED the bottom bracket—in addition to a couple of other geo changes—in effort to “allow for a ride that was a bit more stable while cornering as well as accommodate the new 43cm frame size”]. According to the geometry chart, they changed it by 9mm (from 71.5 to 62.5mm). I didn’t have any complaints about the former geometry, so I’ll be curious how much this changes the ride. They also redesigned the dropouts and fork ends to accommodate 12mm thru-axles (the former version had a 15mm front axle) and flat-mount disc brakes. Both come in All-City’s proprietary 612 Select double-butted 4130 Chromoly steel tubing and have a lugged bi-plane fork crown, pantographed bottom bracket, and custom-designed Shot Collar.
