Josh Ibbett Bikepacking the Lakeland 200

Josh Ibbett and his trainer set out to fastpack the Lakeland 200 bikepacking route. Along the way Josh captured video of the ride that was later edited by filmmaker Ryan Le Garrec and turned into a brilliant piece documenting another side of this challenging route…

Following today’s photo essay from the Lakes District, here’s a completely different take on the Lakeland 200. In this video, Josh Ibbett attempted to ride the multi-day bikepacking route in a single push along with his trainer, Rich Rothwell of Transition Coaching. This video was self-shot by Josh, brilliantly edited by filmmaker Ryan Le Garrec, and undoubtedly shows another side of this challenging route. The music track is by Manu Sampaio.

The Lakeland 200 is a 200km bikepacking route around the Lake District in the UK. It is characterized by exposed passes, technical descents, and unpredictable weather, and takes in some of the area’s most challenging trails. Find details on our full route guide. Also, he and Josh did another collaboration on the GBDuro race, which you can find here.
