Means to Ascend (Video)

Set in Montana, Means to Ascend is a fresh seven-minute video from SAGE Titanium and Volkl skis that follows pro cyclist Maxx Chance and pro skier Johnny Egan as they strap touring skis to their gravel bikes and attempt to summit Mount Blackmore on a 100% human-powered mission. Blackmore is a classic backcountry ski descent and can only be accessed by bike when the road is closed to motor vehicles during the muddy season in April and May.

With their skis affixed to a pair of SAGE bikes (read our detailed review of the Storm King here), Maxx and Johnny ride up to the base of Blackmore, skin their way to the top, ski some truly stunning backcountry lines down back to the bikes, then fly downhill for a post-ride beer.
