Far Out Wanderer

Bikepacking Routes Ambassador

I have loved adventure since the age of three when my parents took me on my first backpacking trip.

We left at night and as the dog could see better than my folks I was leashed to Leah, a German Shorthair Pointer and my first guide into the wilderness.  Since then I have looked for ways to get out and see the world.  I had a very short junior MTB racing stint in the early 90's that was cut short by leg injuries.  I lived in India after high school and wandered through that fascinating country with no itinerary.  Back in the states I followed the traditional path of college, and found my way to nursing as a career.  But the outdoors are always calling and I go out to climb local mountains, photograph, hike, bike, ski and fly fish at every opportunity.  Eventually this love of outdoors and my youthful love of racing sent me to Banff to line up for the Tour Divide and end up in Antelope Wells.  A dream come true, but in my heart  I Love the beauty of nature unmarked by mankind and easy going souls in search of beauty.  I'm lucky enough to have an amazing wife who not only indulges my dreams but joins me at most every opportunity.
