The Surly Krampus: Bikepacking Build Details

After being smitten by the 29+ platform while riding across Africa, I thought I’d make the Surly Krampus my go-to trail bike and bikepacking rig. I’ve said it all before here and here, so I’ll just get straight to the photos and build details:

  • Front Hub: Surly Ultra New Disc, 32h
  • Rims: Surly Rabbit Hole 29+ laced with DT Swiss 14g
  • Cranks: Surly O.D. 33
  • Rings: Surly 22 / Srly 36
  • Chain: KMC x10
  • Shifters: Shimano Xt M780 10 Speed
  • Rear Derailleur: Shimano SLX/Shadow+ RD-M675
  • Front Derailleur: Shimano SLX M676-D
