MADE 2026 on Video (Part 7): Weird Racks and Denim Tires

Part seven of our MADE 2026 video coverage focuses on some of the components, accessories, and other interesting gear scattered around the show. We start with Mica Cycles and a new adjustable front rack designed around three-pack mounts, then check out Teravail’s upcoming stems and bikepacking-focused drop bar, plus some wonderfully weird denim tires. Willie Hatfield walks us through a prototype rear rack designed specifically for loaded full-suspension bikepacking, while Baphomet Bicycles and All Bikes Welcome show off the colorful “Rainbow Abomination” singlespeed being raffled to help fund an inclusive nonprofit community bike shop in Northwest Arkansas.

We also take a deeper look at Verum Velo’s durability-focused approach to custom wheelbuilding before wrapping up with an especially nerdy conversation with SILCA’s Josh Poertner about the company’s new tire lineup. Josh digs into the extensive testing behind the tires, from unconventional casing ply angles and carbon-fiber beads to tread designs developed by studying how individual knobs behave under cornering, braking, and acceleration—all in pursuit of better rolling speed, grip, puncture resistance, and tubeless performance.
