Just announced, 12 Hours of May is a new challenge from Albion Cycling, komoot, and Outdoor Provisions that aims to motivate participants to celebrate the longer days of spring by heading out for an exploratory ride close to home. It’s open to anyone on two (or three) wheels who’s willing to spend 12 hours outside in one go.

To participate, simply plan a route on komoot and head outside for a 12-hour adventure any time in the month of May. The challenge is based on 12 hours of elapsed time from start to finish, not 12 hours of riding time. Your 12 Hours of May might be a massive 12-hour non-stop ride or a low-key overnighter after work to camp out beneath the stars before pedaling back home the next day. There’s no right or wrong way to spend your 12 Hours of May. You might ride 30 or 300 kilometers, on or off-road, with or without sleeping. Have dreams of going bigger? There’s no reason why you have to stop at 12 hours!
