The 2021 Santa Cruz Chameleons haven’t received any geometry updates, but the aluminum models both get fresh new paint and the entire range sees slightly updated build kits. The lineup has also been slimmed down from 13 options to a more reasonable five builds.

There are three different aluminum builds ranging from $1,949 to $2,399 USD in either Fog and Yellowjacket or Raspberry Sorbet and Grey color ways. The most affordable Chameleon D Aluminum is built up around a SRAM SX Eagle drivetrain, RockShox Recon RL fork, WTB rims, and SRAM hubs. The R Aluminum builds, available in both 27.5+ and 29″, and get SRAM NX Eagle, a FOX Rhythm fork, higher end rims and a lighter overall build. All aluminum models now come with a SDG Tellis dropper post, which is great to see.

The carbon Chameleons are still available in Bronze and Blue or Gloss Carbon and Green, with either 27.5+ or 29″ wheels for $2,699 USD. Santa Cruz has really slimmed down the 2021 Carbon Chameleon options. Both are now based around a SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain, FOX Rhythm 34 fork, and otherwise similar components to the aluminum models.
