No doubt, 45NRTH makes some of the best cycling-specific winter boots on the market. Today, they announced an updated version their extreme winter boot, the Wølfgar, and introduced an all-new version of the Ragnarök, my go-to shoulder season boot. Find details on both below.

45NRTH Ragnarök Tall

The Ragnarök Tall is a shoulder season and mild winter boot designed for all forms of riding, including gravel and commuting. Built on the same sole and bottom unit as the Ragnarök we’ve come to love, the Ragnarök Tall is constructed to be waterproof with more protection in the form of a high neoprene cuff. The neoprene cuff opens up like a book to allow easy entry for the foot, and the over flap is designed to provide a custom fit. The Ragnarök Tall also features a Li2 BOA closure and reflective accents on the back for increased visibility.

2022 45NRTH Wølfgar

45NRTH claims the latest iteration of the Wølfgar is their most advanced winter cycling boot, calling it “a boot worthy of singletrack sessions or multi-day expeditions in the harshest winter weather.” The Wølfgar features a lightweight three-piece bottom assembly that’s compatible with flat pedals and 2-bolt cleats, and has a rubber outsole with microglass lugs for traction on ice. Waterproof materials and construction keep the elements out, while aerogel under the foot and over the toe block frigid air. On the inside, Wølfgar’s reflective thermal lining retains warmth, and a removable wool and faux-fur liner wicks moisture and insulates.
