The Kona Big Honzo takes everything fun about the standard Honzo, but builds it up around a 27.5+ platform for more cushion, grip, and good times. While it appears not a whole lot has changed for 2022, the Big Honzo’s build kits and paint jobs were just updated, and it’s looking pretty dialed for a sub $2,000 aluminum hardtail. Both the Big Honzo and Big Honzo DL are specced with wide range drivetrains, 130mm travel forks, and dropper posts. For 2022, the Big Honzo has fully external cable routing, which should make regular maintenance that much easier and likely keeps the price down as well.
2022 Kona Big Honzo
The 2022 Big Honzo features a Shimano Deore wide range 11-speed drivetrain, Suntour coil spring fork, and Tektro hydraulic brakes. It comes stock with WTB i35 rims and 27.5 x 2.8″ WTB Ranger tires. The 2022 Kona Big Honzo retails for $1,499 USD.
2022 Kona Big Honzo DL
The higher end Big Honzo DL shares all the same specs as the standard Big Honzo, but sees an upgraded build kit that looks a little better suited for bikepacking and trail riding. It comes with a RockShox 35 Silver air fork, Shimano Deore 12-speed drivetrain, and Shimano hydraulic brakes. The 2022 Kona Big Honzo DL retails for $1,799 USD.
