While there aren’t any spec or engineering updates this year, Salsa always has some fun with their paint schemes, and it’s fun to see what they come up with each year. For 2022, the Salsa Cutthroat, Warbird, and Warroad are all being offered in new colours and build kits. Find a breakdown of what’s available below.
2022 Salsa Cutthroat
The Salsa Cutthroat is their flagship Tour Divide-inspired drop-bar mountain bike. It features a carbon frame and fork, modern geometry, loads of mounting points for racks, bags, and cages, and clearance for 29 x 2.4″ tires in the rear and 29 x 3.0″ in the front. It’s also suspension-corrected, so you can run a 100mm travel fork for even more comfort on rough terrain. For 2022, select models come specced with a dropper post, Salsa continues to offer their direct-mount frame bag for the entire size range, and they use size-specific components (including wider handlebars) across the range.

2022 Salsa Warbird
The Salsa Warbird is a drop-bar gravel racing bike. It’s designed to offer stability and control on varied terrain, and it’s best suited to those who want to go fast. For 2022, the Warbird is offered in three complete builds, ranging from $4,549 to $7,999 USD. It’s also being offered as a frameset for those looking to piece together their own dream build.

2022 Salsa Warroad
Salsa describes the Warroad as an endurance road bike ideal for “80% road, 20% whatever.” While it might not be the first bike we’d reach for on a fully loaded bikepacking trip, it looks to be a great platform for anyone mainly riding maintained roads with the occasional off-road shortcut. Complete build prices range from $4,599 to $7,999, and it’s also available as a frameset.
