Our friends at Bassi Bikes in Montreal, Quebec, just let us know that their Bassi Hog’s Back and Bloomfield frames models have been restocked in several fresh colorways and are available now. Check them out here…

First released in 2020, the Bassi Hog’s Back is a fully rigid all-road touring bike built with a Columbus Cromor steel frame and fork, clearance for 27.5 x 2.2″ or 700 x 45mm tires, three bottle mounts, and rack/fender bosses. The frame relies on trusted standards like quick-release skewers, an English threaded bottom bracket, and a standard 1 1/8″ headtube. I spent a few months on one and summed it up as a “modern dirt road tourer that offers the comfort and utilitarian-inspired design of a classic steel touring bike but with a slightly more playful and fun ride quality” in my review.

While nothing major has changed for 2023, Bassi just released three fresh new color options for folks that have been waiting. As always, Bassi is offering the Hog’s Back in two complete build options priced at $1,500 or $1,700 USD and as a frameset for $800. All options are available in new frame colors; Rose/Pink, Cool Ade, and Loch Ness. Check it out here.

If gears aren’t your thing, they’ve also received Bloomfield frames in a new green colorway, which is also available as a complete build ($1,200 USD) or as a frameset for $650. The Bloomfield is Bassi’s lightest and most compact offering, has V-brake/Canti brake bosses, 650B x 48mm tire clearance, hidden eyelets for fenders, and fork eyelets for randonneur racks. Check it out here.
