The newly released 2024 Soma Riff features several promising updates, including modern geometry, boost hub spacing, more mounts, and fresh color options. Find photos, specs, and more details here…
The Soma Riff was originally launched in 2018 as a replacement for the B-Side, bringing some modern features and specs to the brand’s somewhat dated platform. The second version of the Soma Riff builds on this momentum with even more spec and geometry updates. The Riff is still based around a Tange Prestige steel frame, 27.5″ wheels, sliding dropouts, and optimized for a short travel (100-120mm) fork.
One of the most significant updates comes in the form of geometry changes. It has a slightly steeper/shorter seat tube angle, a one-degree slacker head tube angle, and a longer reach. Find the chart below. Figures based on non-specific 27.5 x 2.2″ tire and static unsagged fork length of 512mm (120mm travel). Figures in parentheses are based on same fork sagged 25% (same as a 484mm rigid fork).

The size large has bottle mounts on the seat tube, but the other sizes omit bosses to leave more room for a dropper post. All sizes receive three-pack mounts on top of the downtube, mounts on the underside of the downtube, rear rack and fender mounts, and fully external cable routing.
Another notable update is the switch to boost hub spacing while maintaining clearance for 27.5 x 1.95″-2.8″ tires for both singlespeed and some double cranksets. The Riff uses ISO disc brake mounts, a versatile CNC-machined 44mm headtube, a 31.6mm seatpost, and has an ED coating inside the frame and under the paint for rust resistance.
The 2024 Soma Riff is offered in four sizes (XS-L) with Aqua Mint or Peal White paint schemes. It’s available as a frame-only and costs $569.95 and $599.95, respectively. Check out the new Riff at SomaFabShop.com.
