REEB’s award-winning, short-travel steel full-suspension trail bike is getting an overhaul. With revised geometry, a redesigned chassis, and updated suspension kinematics, the next-generation REEB SST promises to be more capable than ever without losing its playful personality. Get a first look at what’s new for the 2027 REEB SST here…
REEB Cycles just announced the next generation of its award-winning short-travel steel 120mm trail bike, the REEB SST. The upcoming model features a redesigned chassis, updated geometry, and improved suspension kinematics. The geometry changes aren’t completely clear, but they mentioned a 0.5° slacker head tube, 0.5° steeper seat tube, slightly taller stack, and wee increase in chainstay length. The prototype will be on display at the 2026 Sedona Mountain Bike Festival, November 6–8, where folks can sneak a peek and chat details with the team behind the bike.
Originally introduced in 2022, the REEB SST combines the playful personality of the brand’s steel hardtails with the capability of a modern full-suspension trail bike. Built around a 120mm flex-stay suspension platform, the SST blends custom steel tubing, 3D-printed stainless steel components, and proprietary suspension tech to create a bike that’s built for both tackling technical climbs and charging down rugged descents. The original SST earned widespread recognition, including one of our 2023 Gear of the Year slots, among others across a variety of mountain bike media.
For the latest iteration, REEB refined the SST’s geometry to boost confidence and stability on techy descents, claiming it doesn’t compromise the lively feel and efficient climbing prowess that defined the original. The updated 120mm flex-stay suspension platform gets revised kinematics aimed at improving small-bump sensitivity, pedaling efficiency, and overall suspension performance.
The SST’s steel chassis has also undergone several engineering refinements. A new 3D-printed rocker pivot housing and enlarged bottom bracket cluster were implemented to improve alignment while creating a cleaner, more integrated structure. Meanwhile, a redesigned rocker linkage with a collet system is made to deliver smoother, more consistent suspension performance. REEB also says that the updated hardware simplifies routine maintenance, making the bike easier to service in a home workshop. The rocker and suspension hardware are manufactured by Prosise Metal Works, led by longtime REEB collaborator Adam Prosise.
“The SST has always been about getting more fun out of it than the travel would suggest,” said Jeff Lenosky, Brand Director at REEB Cycles. “We’ve taken everything we’ve learned from riding and developing the original bike and made meaningful improvements to how it climbs, handles, and responds on the trail. It’s still the playful steel bike we love, just in a more refined and capable package. We’re excited to get it out in front of riders and hear what they think.”
Designed and built in-house in Longmont, Colorado, the next-generation SST prototype will make its way to Sedona Mountain Bike Festival this weekend, November 6–8. Visitors can stop by the REEB booth to see the bike, meet Jeff Lenosky and the REEB team, and learn more. You can also learn more about their rides and register at TrailBoss.bike and through the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival.
The next-generation SST is currently in development, with a release scheduled for sometime in 2027. REEB will announce additional specifications, pricing, and availability details as development progresses. Visit REEB’s SST preview page to sign up for updates.
