Updated Apidura Backcountry Bags: Part 2

A month ago, Apidura announced a major update to their Backcountry series of bikepacking bags. The update included a new seam-welded VX21 X-Pac construction and updated sizing to better fit modern bikes. The first release included a frame pack, seat bag, handlebar roll, and an accessory bag. The second part of that release was just announced, which includes a standard and extra-long top tube bag, rear top tube bag, and a handlebar bag accessory pocket. Check out the details below.

Backcountry Accessory Pocket

Designed to easily clip onto their Backcountry Handlebar Pack, the Accessory Pocket features a large velcro closure for quick-access items and an internal mesh pocket to keep its contents in place. It has reflective details, an exterior attachment point for a light, and a waterproof construction featuring welded seams, like all the bags in the series. It weighs just 155g and provides up to 4L of additional storage. The Backcountry Accessory Pocket retails for $74 USD.

Backcountry Rear Top Tube Pack

Apidura’s new Rear Top Tube Pack features a waterproof zipper, waterproof seam-welded construction, and offers 1L of storage that’s perfect for snacks or tools. It uses a one-finger zipper that’s easily accessed on the move, an internal mesh “anti-rattle” sleeve, and reflective graphics. It looks as if the included straps have several different positions to work around other bags or straps. The Backcountry Rear Top Tube Pack weighs 125g and retails for $69 USD.

Backcountry Top Tube Pack

Apidura’s Backcountry Top Tube Pack sees a similar re-design as the rear pack—a waterproof design, reflective details, and a one-finger waterproof zipper. It’s also padded with closed-cell foam to help protect sensitive electronics and has a cable port for charging devices on the go. It also provides 1L of storage and retails for $64 USD.

Backcountry Long Top Tube Pack

Apidura’s Long Top Tube Pack is the latest, but certainly not the first, extra-long top tube bag designed for those who want to carry all of the snacks… and more. It provides a whopping 1.8L of storage, has a one-finger, two-way waterproof zipper, and has a cable port for charging devices while riding. There’s an internal divider and several different removable strap options to work with different setups. The Long Top Tube Pack measures in at 14.6″ (37cm) long and tapers from 3.9″ (10cm) to 2.7″ (7cm) tall. It retails for $89 USD.
