Big Agnes Torchlight sleeping bags feature zippered panels on both sides that can expand up to 10 inches to customize your sleeping preference. Here’s a closer look a the Torchlight UL 30°, which looks like the most appealing for bikepackers…
Big Agnes’ new Torchlight Expandable Mummy Sleeping Bags feature adjustable zippered panels to provide up to 5″ of additional room on both sides of the bag. The idea is the sleeping bag’s fit can be customized for different body types and sleeping styles—making room for side sleepers, wide shoulders, or fully expanded for those who prefer lots of room to move around at night. There are eight different sleeping bags in Big Agnes’ Expandable line, between the Women’s Torchlight, standard Torchlight, and UL Torchlight models, in both 20° and 30° versions.
From a bikepacking perspective, the Torchlight UL 30° looks the most appealing. It features the dual zipper expandable panels, body-mapped baffle construction, and a vaulted foot box. The Torchlight UL 30° is constructed from an ultralight polyester rip-stop fabric with a water-repellent finish, a polyester taffeta lining, and 850-fill DownTek water repellent down insulation. The insulation is Bluesign Certified and has PFOA and PFOS free water repellent chemistry. Torchlight UL 30° is available in both a regular and long length, weighs 1lb 12oz (0.79kg) or 2lb 1oz (0.94kg), respectively, and retails for either $349.95 or $369.95 USD.
