Oregon’s Bike Friday recently launched a new and improved version of their US-made Haul-a-Day cargo bike, the Haul-a-Day Elite. With a break-apart design and the complete base model weighing in at 34 pounds, Bike Friday says it’s the lightest and most versatile long-tail cargo bike in the world. Engineered with a low center of gravity that makes getting on and off while loaded easy, the Bike Friday Haul-a-Day Elite can carry up to 440 pounds including rider and cargo.

The frame is adjustable in three places, allowing riders to change the handlebar height, seat mast, and frame size in minutes, effectively making it 24 unique bikes in one and enabling folks from 4’9″ to 6’6″ to fit on the same frame. It can also be disassembled to fit in the trunk of a car or a box for travel, as shown below. Some key improvements in the new Elite version include twin-adjustable main tubes for added stiffness and control, a full pound of weight savings in the frame, a higher weight rating, and increased tire clearance (2.25″ with fenders and 2.4″ without).

The Haul-a-Day Elite is available as a frameset or complete with several build kit options and tailor-made accessory packages for what they’re calling family cargo, super cargo, and bikepacking. The bikepacking component and accessory kit includes larger 2.4″ tires, a front rack and plate, a frame bag, a rear underbag, fork braze-ons, a Rohloff rear hub, and Packalope bikepacking handlebars.
