In the summer of 2025, a group of friends supported by Cinelli took off to traverse the Big Pamir: the most remote corner of the Afghan Wakhan Corridor. The group pushed through grueling heat, countless cases of food poisoning, and freezing river crossings, enjoying a fair share of hurdles before even leaving the city. Watch the full video below to see their adventure in search of the Kyrgyz nomads, and the group’s attempt to learn about their traditional way of life in valleys at over 4,000 meters above sea level.
More than a trip in search of soaring vistas and technical terrain, their experience breaking bread in a yurt with the Kyrgyz families that were kind enough to take them in feels like witnessing a forgotten hospitality culture in modern society. Trading iron horse for flesh and blood, there’s even a moment where a villager rides their bike while the travelers take to horseback. It’s a fascinating video that is sure to inspire you to see these wonders with your own eyes.
