In this pair of videos, Julley heads into Mongolia’s remote Khangai Mountains on a mini velo, where isolation, challenging conditions, and the kindness of strangers make for an unforgettable journey. Watch the first two episodes of their unconventional bikepacking adventure here…
In the first episode following a 10-day bikepacking adventure through Mongolia, folks from the Julley Film YouTube channel set out to explore the remote Khangai Mountains of Arkhangai Province aboard mini velos. The journey begins with their arrival in Mongolia and a trip through the bustling streets of Ulaanbaatar before they head into the country’s vast, sparsely populated interior on an unusual cycling adventure through one of its most spectacular regions.
The second episode recounts days three through five of their 10-day mini velo bikepacking trip. Rolling along at elevations reaching 2,500 meters, they capture some amazing footage on what appears to be our Khangai Mountains Traverse route. Despite the dramatic backdrop of the Mongolian steppe, the video highlights unexpected moments of kindness and hospitality from the people they encounter along the way. These human connections become the most memorable part of their trip.
