Bombtrack Bicycle Co. just unveiled its 2022 lineup, which includes six fresh models with updated colors and specs. We put together this exclusive first look at what’s new, including complete build kits for some of the most interesting bikes. Check it all out here…
The bike industry is still far from operating at its normal capacity, and some companies are without functioning factories due to COVID-19 closures. We’ve heard of brands delivering bikes without saddles, and others with lead times of two years. Bombtrack is still plugging along, and although they’ve pushed back all development of new bikes to 2023, they’ve managed to introduce six updated build specs for 2022. This is the first time Bombtrack has carried over all of their models into the next year, but we’ve heard about some exciting new models in the works.
Bombtrack is introducing six new builds/colorways for 2022, which will all be available globally this month. Find a breakdown of what’s new below, including photos, pricing, and a product overview video for each from Bombtrack. Note that this roundup doesn’t include all of the carry-over models and colors from 2021, including the Beyond, Cale, Tension, and Audax.
2022 Bombtrack Hook
Based around a Columbus Cromor steel frame and full carbon fork, the Hook is designed to be fast and versatile. It’s outfitted with lots of different mounting options for bottles, racks, and fenders, including triple pack mounts on the fork legs. It’s specced with size-matched 650b or 700c wheels, a Shimano GRX 2×10 drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes, with either WTB Resolute or Venture tires. The Hook is offered in five sizes in either a Glossy Metallic Black/Purple or Glossy Metallic Blue paint job. The complete build retails for $3,057 USD or as a frameset for $1,120 USD.
2022 Bombtrack Hook EXT
The Hook EXT offers a similar platform to the standard Hook but is built up around a beefy 27.5″ wheelset with 2″ tires for better off-road capability. It features a Columbus Cromor steel frame, full carbon fork, and all of the same mounting points, and is specced with a 1×11 SRAM Rival drivetrain with hydraulic brakes. It’s also offered in five different sizes and comes in either a Matte Black or Matte Metallic Grey Blue paint job. The complete build retails for $3,383 USD or as a frameset for $1,188 USD.
2022 Bombtrack Hook EXT C
The Hook EXT C is a full carbon version of the standard Hook EXT, shaving weight and upgrading components for a performance-focused build that’s lighter and more comfortable. It comes specced with 27.5″ Hunt Adventure Sport wheels, WTB Venture 2.0″ tires, a SRAM Rival 1×11 drivetrain, and is also offered in five sizes. For 2022, the Hook EXT C is offered in a Glossy Metallic Black or Glossy Dark Green paint job. The complete retails for $4,283 USD and the frameset is available for $1,908 USD.
2022 Bombtrack Arise SG
New for 2022, the Arise SG is a drop-bar-equipped version of the flat-bar Arise Geared. It’s built up around a wide-range Microshift Advent X 1×10 drivetrain, size-specific 650b or 700c wheels, and fast-rolling Vee Tire Speedster tires. The Arise SG is offered in five sizes and in a single Glossy Cobalt Green paint job. It retails for $2,064 USD as a complete or $924 USD for the frameset.
2022 Bombtrack Munroe AL
The Munroe AL is a simple and affordable aluminum flat-bar bike for comfort in all conditions. It’s based around 650b x 45mm tires, a 1×8 Microsoft drivetrain, hydraulic brakes, and doesn’t lose the rack mounts or triple pack mounts on the fork legs. It looks like it could make a great first bikepacking bike for someone who also plans to do some commuting or urban exploration. It comes in three sizes, a Matte Black or Matte Pewter paint job, and retails for $1,303 USD for the complete or $589 for a frameset.
2022 Bombtrack Munroe SG
New for 2022, the Munroe SG is a drop-bar alternative to Bombtrack’s Munroe AL. It features off-road inspired geometry, an aluminum frame and fork, and is designed to accept racks, fenders, and other cargo with ease. Its 1×9 Microshift Advent drivetrain is rounded off with Tektro Mira mechanical disc brakes. The Munroe SG is only offered in three sizes and a Glossy Metallic Red/Black paint job. The complete retails for $1,489 USD and the frameset costs $589 USD.
