The Breezer Squall joins the exclusive ranks of coupler-equipped frames that fit into a suitcase for easy air and train travel. Get a first peek at the unique new design here…

At Eurobike in Germany a few weeks back, we caught wind of the new Breezer Squall, a unique travel-friendly gravel bike that packs down small for easy air and train travel. The 6061 aluminum frame features frame couplers in the top tube and down tube that allow the frame to be disassembled into two smaller triangles using nothing but common 5mm and 6mm Allen keys. This means the disassembled Squall fits into a standard suitcase footprint, a big advantage for trips that demand other means of transport to get to the riding. Perhaps most intriguingly, the Squall comes with a proprietary rolling case that doubles as a bike trailer, though Breezer has yet to release images and details of this feature.

In the design of the Squall, Breezer says they took cues from their top gravel bikes to create an efficient, lively bike on pavement that’s also stable and capable off-road. To this end, it features a carbon fork with cargo mounts and a solid build kit that’s centered around the Shimano GRX 810/600 11-speed groupset, WTB STi23 TCS 650B wheels, and WTB Venture 650Bx47mm tires.
