Brother Cycles Mr Wooden Pre-Orders Open

As a lover of 650B wheels and rim brakes myself, I’m excited to share the news that the Brother Cycles Mr Wooden is available for pre-order as of today, and their arrival in the UK is just a few months away. In their words, the Mr Wooden is “a modern randonneur, a gravel bike, a tourer which isn’t afraid to venture off-road. Mr Wooden is however you decide to build it.” With clearance for 650B x 50mm tires, cantilever or v-brakes, and low-mid trail geometry, it’s a bike that harkens back to simpler times in the world of cycling tech and features classic styling with modern construction.

The Mr Wooden also sports a threaded 68mm bottom bracket shell, 1 1/8″ headtube, and quick-release axles—all trusted standards—meaning many folks likely have the parts to build one up lying around in a bin somewhere. The frame and fork are constructed from double-butted 4130 Chromoly steel and feature an ED coating under the paint to help prevent corrosion. There are mounts for front and rear racks, fenders, and three bottles. It also has downtube shifter mounts, clearance for a triple chainring up front, a built-in seatpost collar, and versatile 132.5mm rear spacing. The frame and fork come in at a combined weight of 3.1 kilograms (6.8 pounds).
