Announced today, Chrome’s new Doubletrack Bag series features a magnetic-closure handlebar sling and a multifunctional stem bag that we’ve been testing out for the last week. Learn more here…

Although we’re big fans of Chrome’s products, they’re better known for their apparel, messenger bags, and urban wear than bikepacking bags. Until now, that is. Announced today, their new Doubletrack Bag series blends the urban-inspired versatility Chrome is known for with the functionality of bikepacking bags. The series includes the new Doubletrack Handlebar Sling, part sling part handlebar bag, and their Doubletrack Feed Bag, which we’ve been trying out for the last week. Find details on both below.

Chrome Doubletrack Handlebar Sling

The new Chrome Doubletrack Handlebar Sling is half handlebar bag, half wearable sling bag. It’s constructed from a durable nylon with a 70d poly liner, has a roll-top closure with a magnetic buckle, and the crossbody strap stows away while not in use. Like the Feed Bag, it has two elastic mesh pockets on the side for quick access items.

This looks like it could be equally suitable for short bikepacking trips as daily commuting and every day rides. It appears to have some internal pocket for organization and the magnetic closure should be quick enough to pull out a camera or light jacket in no time.

Chrome Doubletrack Feed Bag

The new Chrome Doubletrack Feed Bag sees many of the same features we expect from a modern stem bag. It has two pull tabs for one-handed operation, an extended sheath on the top, and a stretchy mesh pocket on each side. Chrome includes two hook and loop straps that can be positioned as needed on the daisy chain that runs along three of the four sides. It’s well-padded throughout, which would make a great place to store a small point and shoot or mirrorless camera, and it’s finished with what they call “tarp” fabric and a rubber emblem in true Chrome fashion.

The one unique aspect of the Doubletrack Feed Bag is the additional 2″ wide strap on the back that’s designed to strap onto a belt loop. I could see this as an even better setup for carrying a small camera or GoPro, which would see far less vibrations compared to being strapped on the bike. I’ve also found this strap is perfectly sized for securing the Feed Bag onto the side of a Wald basket, which has been a great addition to my coffee outside setup. After using the Doubletrack Feed Bag, it was pointed out that it shares a few remarkable similarities as its namesake, the Revelate Mountain Feed Bag, which I might add was the first stem bag of its kind.
