For our latest Collective Reward, we’re giving away 20 copies of the sold out third issue of our biannually printed publication, The Bikepacking Journal. We know many of our current members joined after the cutoff to receive Issue 03, while other readers of the site have yet to pledge their support by joining our Bikepacking Collective, so here’s a chance for folks in both camps to have a more complete collection of The Bikepacking Journal on their bookshelf.
Inside The Bikepacking Journal 03:
In our third issue, we wanted to continue pushing beyond simply sharing inspiring stories and photography. As much as we love reading about life-altering trips to dream destinations, our goal was to broaden the scope of themes and diversity of voices we published in print. And we hoped to engage our audience in a way that provided opportunities for learning and reflecting.
How does understanding a place’s past enrich the experience of travel and travelers themselves? What’s the real value of a long-term bike trip, and is it possible to extract that same value from something much shorter? How does the way we interact with places as bikepackers differ from the way other communities experience those same spaces? We examined these questions and more in issue three of The Bikepacking Journal.
Curious to know more about what’s inside? See details here. And if you want to get a look at the kind of stories we publish in The Bikepacking Journal, check out the web versions of Freedom, Slow Fare and Boundless, features stories from the previous issues.
