Portland’s North St. Bags has been building packs for commuting and long-haul touring since 2009, and they recently launched an updated bikepacking range with a number of practical products for hauling a more compact kit wherever your knobby tires take you. For Collective Reward #186, we’re giving away a sampling bags from their bikepacking line, all built with EcoPak, which is made from recycled ocean plastic. One randomly selected Bikepacking Collective member will take home a set of Adventure Micro Panniers, a Roll-Top Trunk Bag, and a Handlebar Pack in their choice of color. That’s around a $450 value for our winner.
Adventure Micro Panniers
North St. Bags’ new Adventure Micro Panniers are designed for gravel touring and off-road bikepacking with a secure, rattle-free hook and loop strap attachment system for rough terrain. Made from a single layer of waterproof sailcloth, they have a 10 to 14-liter capacity per bag (roll-top open or closed) and weigh just over a pound (468 grams). The panniers feature an external zipper pocket, field-serviceable buckle and strap parts, D-ring tabs for an optional shoulder strap, and internal hooks for optional organizers. Find details here.
Roll-Top Trunk Bag
Originally designed for Old Man Mountain’s Divide and Elkhorn racks, the North St. Bags Roll-Top Trunk Bag will work on a wide range of racks to provide an expandable 8 to 12 liters of storage space with a secure roll-top closure. It sports four grip-on hook and loop straps for a solid attachment and has a front zipper pocket for quick-access items. Like the Adventure Micro Panniers, it also has field-serviceable buckle and strap parts, D-ring tabs for an optional shoulder strap, and internal hooks for optional organizers. It weighs 9.7 ounces (275 grams) and is about seven inches tall when rolled closed. See more here.
Handlebar Pack
Lastly, the North St. Bags Handlebar Pack is a small and simple front bag with a couple of clever touches. Notably, it has rider-facing mesh pockets on the bag of the bags that look ideal for holding things like snacks and wrappers. It attaches to the handlebars using a pair of included six-inch Voile Nano Straps, and a shock cord wraps around the head tube to keep it snug. The Handlebar Bag measures 9 x 5 x 3.75″ (22.8 x 12.7 x 9.5 cm), weighs 7.2 ounces (205 grams), and has a 2.8-liter capacity. There are zippered pockets inside and out. Learn more here.
