Released this spring, the new Wahoo ELEMNT Roam 3 is a GPS-enabled bike computer that’s packed with worthy updates over its predecessor. It features a large, 2.8-inch anti-glare display, a touchscreen, and increased color depth. It was updated with more storage, from 32 GB to 64 GB, which means added room for maps, workouts, and more. There’s audible turn-by-turn navigation, detailed map layers, a totally revamped user interface, and it offers up to 25 hours of battery life.

For bikepackers, following a route is often crucial, and Neil found the Wahoo ELEMNT Roam 3 to do a great job of keeping him in line. It was easy to pull pre-made routes from Strava or Ride with GPS, load them onto the device, and then customize the display to show various metrics, such as turn-by-turn prompts, remaining mileage, and total climbing. You can even share a location from Google Maps or Apple Maps to the Wahoo app, and it will create a route using your preferred surface type, whether that’s paved, unpaved, or mixed.
