London-based Albion Cycling is an apparel brand specializing in gear for British conditions. They offer a variety of styles and collections, but the Zoa lineup is most relevant for bikepackers, described as “technical outdoor clothing for on and off bike use.” Over the last few years, we’ve been seeing the Albion Zoa lineup in ultra-endurance races all over the world, and I was eager to get his hands (legs) on the Zoa Rain Trousers for my recent rain pant roundup. Out of the seven pants I tested, the Zoa Rain Trousers stood out as a favorite, and we’re thrilled to be giving away some Albion Zoa Rain Trousers and a Zoa Rain Shell for Collective Reward #234. One lucky Bikepacking Collective member will take home both garments in the size of their choice, totaling over $1,000 in value.

The Albion Zoa Rain Trousers are designed for “maximum comfort and articulation when pedaling,” which means they have a slightly roomier fit that’s easy to layer under and not constrictive. The seat panel is made from reinforced ballistic nylon that has proven to be exceptionally durable. The bum is one of my favorite parts of the pants, because the seat panel is always the first to wear out for anyone riding through mud, dirt, and grime due to the amount of abrasion this area sees. They are made from a PFAS-free Pertex Shield 3-Layer waterproof fabric with a PFC-free C0 DWR water-repellent finish. The pants feature fully taped seams, two webbing waist adjusters, elastic grippers at the ankles, hip vents, and knee-to-ankle zips.

The Albion Zoa Rain Shell uses a similar design ethos as a packable, dependable, and waterproof outer layer for when the weather turns. It features a Pertex Shield Pro Netplus 100% recycled, 40-denier face fabric, a PFC-free C0 DWR water-repellent finish, a helmet-friendly hood, a two-way main zipper, and two hand pockets that double as vents. Reflective detailing and a comfortable on- and off-the-bike fit round out the Zoa Rain Shell. You can find the Zoa collection at AlbionCycling.com.
