EVOC Updates Photography Hip Packs and Backpacks

Carrying a camera on the bike is a popular option these days. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s that the bumps and vibrations associated with off-road cycling can wreak havoc on cameras. EVOC just announced its updated full line of photography packs designed to protect cameras and from the rigors of rugged travel, many of which are aimed directly at adventure cycling. EVOC’s wide range of backpacks, luggage, camera blocks, and the new Capture 7L Hip Pack are designed to provide professionals and enthusiasts with a camera-carrying solutions for the trail or city travel. Here are a the three that stand out for bikepacking:

EVOC HIP PACK CAPTURE 7l

If you like to keep weight off your shoulders and back while still having your camera at hand, the HIP PACK CAPTURE 7L might be the answer. It features seven liters of storage capacity with a padded six-liter main compartment that can be configured to suit individual camera kits using compartment dividers. According to EVOC it offers enough space for a system camera and additional lenses.

Other features include an externally-mounted, fold-down, quick-access compartment with a waterproof inner pocket for memory cards and accessories. It also has a zipped pocket on the hip belt for a mobile phone or lens caps, and two water bottle holders slotted into the sides with straps. EVOC Photop 16l (as shown) + Photop 22l

The EVOC PHOTOP backpack comes in 16l or 22l volume options and offers space for food, clothing, or other accessories, along with camera storage options in the lower section. Camera systems are stowed within a removable padded camera block in the lower part of the backpack.

The 16l option is fitted with an included three-liter camera block and an additional three-litre block can be added, making it possible to expand or contract the pack’s camera capacity. Both camera blocks can be accessed from the sides, without having to take off the backpack. With a nine-liter block, the PHOTOP 22l allows fast access from the right-hand side and provides a meshed pocket on the left.

Both PHOTOP variants feature a roll-top closure, allowing the top to be rolled up and tucked under, depending on how much carrying capacity is needed. The main compartment also has a sleeve for a hydration bladder or a laptop. And there’s a quick-access compartment in the front of the backpack for memory cards, filters, or maps. An additional strap system allows a tripod to be lashed on the side, while an integrated rainfly protects contents from the elements. Stage Capture 16l

EVOC’s STAGE CAPTURE 16l backpack is described as “a lightweight and multi-faceted companion for amateur photographers.” The volume of the backpack’s main body is divided up using a zipped a camera compartment and a larger compartment for clothing, food, or other accessories. The padded section for the camera system can be subdivided to suit various kits using three moveable dividers. You can either open up the compartment completely to sort out your stuff using the zip, or extract the camera from the side while on the go. The Stage Capture also features a sewn-in, zipped mesh pocket in the upper compartment for personal items, an AIRFLOW CONTACT back system, and a sleeve for a hydration bladder or laptop.
