Announced earlier this month, the René Herse Fleecer Ridge is the company’s first bikepacking-specific tire. Designed in collaboration with Lael Wilcox, the new 29″ x 2.2″ tire was created for big rides such as the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route and the Tian Shan Traverse (aka Silk Road Mountain Race route). We organized a live talk with Rene Herse founder Jan Heine and Lael about the tire’s design, how it came to be, and yet-to-be released details about the Fleecer Ridge’s tread pattern and technology.
