In the second episode of “Forgotten Roads,” Alex and Brian tackle a route outside of Idyllwild, California, a quaint mountain town east of L.A. and west of Joshua Tree. Watch it here and find a map of their route…

Sponsored by Hammerhead, Forgotten Roads is a three-part self-filmed series documenting gravel rides in California. The aim is to inspire folks to get out and explore their world by bike. We posted the first episode yesterday. Following that, the second installment in the series follows Alex and Brian east of L.A. to check out the backcountry surrounding Idyllwild, a mountain town that’s the home of the classic Stagecoach 400 bikepacking route. Watch it below and scroll down for more info on their route…

The Route

The route these two rode is situated between some of the highest mountains in California. While they rode the route in a day, this might make for a great overnighter.
