Good Grief in Colorado just announced their summer overnighter bikepacking series with campouts running once a month from June to September. Learn more about the “Don’t Overthink It” series and how to join in here…
Now in its fourth year, the Good Grief “Don’t Overthink It” series is a monthly mid-week bikepacking one-night ride that prioritizes an easygoing pace, scheduled meet-up points, and rides fit for folks of all abilities. The campouts are scheduled for June 25th, July 16th, August 13th, and September 17th, with two meet-up points to begin the ride to a secret camp. The first point is at Red Rocks Open Space Parking Lot at 5:00 p.m. (~10 miles to camp), and the second is at the Gold Camp Road parking lot at 6:00 p.m. (1 mile to camp), just west of Colorado Springs.

The ride requires an off-road capable bike, water, dinner, breakfast/coffee, bike lights, a helmet, camping gear, and anything else you might want for a comfortable night out. Attendees can leave camp any time on Thursday morning, allowing folks the flexibility to zip back into town for work or relax at camp.
Here are some words of encouragement from Good Grief: “Don’t stress about how fast you ride or if you’ll be able to keep up. This group is for riders of all abilities to get out and enjoy the stunning nature that’s only five minutes from our backdoors for a fun mid-week adventure. If you need to stop and catch your breath or take a my-butt-hurts break, do it. We’re not trying to Strava flex out here–we’re here for the ride, the camaraderie… and those crispy-skinned campfire hot dogs.”
