This morning, British Columbia-based bag maker HMPL is opening pre-orders for a brand new bag that looks especially promising for folks riding small frames or who have limited tire-to-bar clearance. The new HMPL No.15 is a smaller version of their No.24 bag. It’s a roll-top bag that can be used as both a handlebar bag or saddle bag. A roll-top closure and aluminum G-hook straps offer access to the main compartment, a snap closure keeps the contents secure, and there is a built-in carry handle for off-the-bike use.
The HMPL No.15 has two rows of Molle webbing that provides two mounting heights and several strap placements, depending on your setup. For overloading, there are built-in extension straps under the main flap to keep bulky gear in place, and the base is designed to allow use of a stabilizing dowel or bag support. The bag has a removable plastic stiffener sheet, is compatible with the HMPL Shoulder Strap, and includes two velcro attachment straps and one shockcord headtube strap.
There are two sizes to choose from. The wide version has big cinch pockets on each side, and the slim model has flat pockets made from a super stretchy Power-Mesh fabric. The No.15 Slim looks great for folks riding small frames and will fit down to a 36cm wide handlebar, only requiring 4″ of clearance between the handlebar and tire.
